2019 U-23 AFCON: Ghana receives $8000 from Olympic Committee ahead of departure

Ghana’s Olympic Committee has presented a cheque of $8000 to the Black Meteors of Ghana prior to their departure for the Under 23 African Cup of Nations in Egypt this November.

The huge boost was received by the President of Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku on behave of the team from the Ghanian Olympic Committee President Ben Nunoo Mensah.

Ghana are making their debut at the CAF U-23 AFCON. They face host Egypt , Mali and similar debutants Cameroon in Group A.

Nigeria, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Zambia constitute the other group.

This year’s continental competition will determine the three African teams to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympic games in Tokyo, Japan.

The competition kickoffs on November 8 and ends November 22, 2019.

Nigeria are defending Champions.
