• Sixteen (16) of the Continent’s top basketball clubs will compete at the 30th edition of the FIBA Afro-basket in Kigali.

The pairings for the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket men’s tournament are known following the draw conducted on Friday, May 30 in Kigali, Rwanda.
In group A, host Rwanda face Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Defending champions Tunisia are lodged in Group B with Egypt, the Central Africa Republic, and Guinea.
Two other groups complete the draw. 2015 winners Nigeria are tipped favourites from Group C where Ivory Coast, Mali and Kenya are found.
Cameroon – who finished fifth (5) in the 2017 edition will entertain stiff challenge from five time African champions Senegal, and South Sudan.
The victors of the three nation contest between Morocco, Uganda ad Cape Vert will complete the charts in group A and D after the last round of qualifiers in July.
Rwanda will host the 30th edition of the FIBA Afrobasket at the Kigali Arena. The continental men’s basketball championship takes place from August 24-September 5.
Tunisia won their second FIBA Afrobasket trophy during the last edition in 2017 after beating Nigeria in the final 77-65 in Rades. They will be keen on retaining their title.
