Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar scored from the spot to help Besiktas beat holders Basaksehir FK 3-2 on match day nine (9) of the Turkish Super Lig to return to winning ways.
The 28-year-old striker has scored twice and assisted once since his return to the Turkish top flight club from FC Porto in September.
Aboubakar played full time and converted a 72 minute penalty kick to enable his team lead by 3-0 after goals from team mates Atiba Hutchinson and Cyle Larin in the first half.
Fredrik Gulbrandsen scored two late goals but failed to inspire 10-man Basaksehir FK to a comeback with the host determined to grab all three points and close in on the top four.
The former FC Lorient and Valenciennes forward captained and scored twice for Cameroon against Mozambique while on international duties and has continued his superb run with his club on his return with the national team.
Besiktas currently occupy the sixth (6th) spot on the log. They are away to leaders Fenerbahce next week.
