Africa Women’s Handball Championship Quarter-final pairings

Host Cameroon beat DR Congo to finish top of group B

Host Cameroon face Nigeria in the quarter-final of the on-going African Women’s Handball Championship Tuesday, June 15 at the Yaoundé Multi-Purpose Sport complex.

The Handball Lionesses who finished top of group B undefeated take on Nigeria Women’s handball national team for the second time in the competitions after beating them in their second game 39-19.

Nigeria advanced to the quarterfinals as one of the best third placed teams alongside Guinea.

Cameroon are in pursuit of their maiden continental silverware. The team’s objective is to win the title on home soil. They are hopeful their impressive run so far can propel them to glory.

“We will try our best to win not only this match but the trophy. Each match has an objective-Jacqueline Mossy Solle said during a press conference.

There will also be other exciting games in the other quarter-final pairings of the senior Women’s handball Africa Cup of Nations. 13-time champions and favourites of the tournaments Angola face group B runner-up DR Congo in the first game of the day.

Tunisia takes on Guinea in the second encounter at 2pm before the Congo vs Senegal clash at 4pm.
