Bui Division: 6 Traditional Rulers Abducted in Sop by Separatists

Six traditional rulers have been abducted by English speaking separatist fighters in Sop, Bui Division, in the North West Region of Cameroon.

The 6 rulers were abducted as they returned from Yaoundé Friday morning where they spent three weeks.

They had traveled to Yaoundé for the “Tooy Fon,” a customary summon from the Paramount Fon of Nso to his subordinates, for an important message.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the 6 tradirional rulers under custody were accused by separatists of ploting against them in Yaoundé with the Paramount Fon of Nso.

Amongst the abducted traditional were Shuufaay Ndendzef and Shuufaay Woo Yuwarm two of the most respected traditional rulers in all of Nso.

The abducted rulers have been taken to an undisclosed location by the fighters.

In November 2020, Separatist fighters kidnapped the Paramount ruler of Nso. HRH Sehm Mbinglo spent close to a week in the hands of his abductors.
