Cameroon giants Coton Sport confirmed their qualification for the final round of the CAF Confederation Cup after edging Green Eagles of Zambia 1-0 in Garoua.
The fifteen times league one champions claimed a 2-0 first leg advantage and wrapped-up their 3-0 aggregate victory with a first home win after a shock defeat to Unisport and Sokode in the first round.
Gueime Araina scored the winner for the League one side after providing the opener only five minutes in the game.
Coton Sport will know their next opponents after the draws of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup slated for this Friday in Cairo. A win during this final qualifying stage will hand the team a place in the group stages of the Confederation Cup-their first appearances in about three years.
The Garoua based outfit is Cameroon’s lone representative in the CAF inter-club competition this year after the exit of PWD of Bamenda in the Preliminaries of the CAF Champions League.
Coton Sport reached the final of the CAF Cup in 2003 as well as the final of the CAF Champions League in 2008.
