
The minister of Sports and Physical Education, Bidoung Mpkwatt on Monday October 16th, held an in camera working session, with the various heads of companies involved in the construction and renovation of the different stadia to be used during the 2019 AFCON.

He urged the various heads to speed up work before the arrival of the AFCON inspection team to Cameroon. Most of them were distracted and others were sleepy during the meeting.

He added that “for a successful organization the collaboration of these companies is vital.”
Minister Receives the Italo Group Construction Company
Early Monday morning, the minister received the Italo group. The group came to propose their technical expertise to help construct a 9 story building to be used as a hotel during 2019 AFCON Games.

In a bid to help Cameroon succeed in the hosting of the 2019 AFCON Games, they are offering their services for the construction of buildings and equipping different stadia with electronic devices.
Their CEO said he is offering their 30 years of experience to construct a mobile electronic 9 story building in the form of a football which could be used as a hotel during the 2019 AFCON Games.

The Olembe Sports Complex under construction

Authorities say the Olembe Sports Complex shall be ready in time to host the 2019 AFCON games. Yesterday October 16, the Governor of the centre region paid a suprise visit there to inspect the ongoing construction. In his capacity as the President of the centre region committee, Governor Naseri Paul Bea affirmed that there’s been change since the last time he visited the area.

Talking about the controversial reports given to the national and international public on social media, the chief of the project Marc Debant reassured that the team is working 24 hours a day to respect the execution time.
