Cameroon: After national dialogue PM dispatches agents of peace

By Njix Sharon

The Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute has recently dispatched a peace team to the North West and South West regions of the country in a bid to resolve the Anglophone crisis.

Regional post dialogue sensitisation campaigns were launched in both regions over the weekend.

The Bishop of the Mamfe Diocese, Bishop Andrew Nkea will lead the delegation in the South West region while His Eminence Christian Cardinal Tumi will head that of the North West.

This peace mission seeks to sensitize the people of the anglophone regions on the decisions taken at the Major National Dialogue as well as the expectations from the process.

Both men of God are known for their roles in promoting peace and human rights in the country.

With the ongoing fightings in some areas in the North West and South West, some people hope for the best from this initiative while others are still skeptical.

This follows the President’s announcement to grant the restive regions a special status, a bill yet to be discussed in parliament.
