The 25 competing clubs of the League one championship will be divided into two groups of 12 and 13 clubs respectively with the three bottom placed teams to be relegated.

The same scenario will be applied in the Elite two with releg. It is the second year in a row that clubs have not been relegated to the inferior divisions.

It was also revealed during Tuesday’s gathering that the prize money for the Elite one and the subsidies to clubs has increased.

The winner of the League one championship will go back home with 50million FRS CFA as compared to 30million during the other years. League one clubs will also receive 20 million FRS CFA as state subsidies instead of the traditional 10 million frs while the League two clubs will receive 10 million instead of the original 5million FRS CFA.
