Barrister Akere Muna has made a passionate call to the Cameroonian Government to introduce a complete lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The Cameroonian Lawyer’s call came after the Central African country recorded at least 200 Coronavirus cases in a day.
In a tweet he said “The economy is heading towards disaster as oil prices fall under $20 (We budgeted over $50).”
“We need a Marshall Plan NOW and we must lockdown,” he added.
Barrister Muna also paid tribute to Cameroon’s first Medical Doctor who was killed by the coronavirus in his tweet.
“A doctor has given his life to save ours (RIP),” said Barrister Muna.
Cameroon has become the 2nd Sub – Saharan African country with the highest number of coronavirus cases after South Africa with 1505 cases.
The country reported its first case on March 6, 2020 and now has over 500 confirmed cases and 8 fatalities, according to the Ministry of Health.
