Cameroon’s Minister of Sport and Physical Education Prof Narcisse Moulle Kombi says the various stadia to host matches of the 2021 African Nations Football Championship will be ready for delivery to the Confederation of African Football, CAF on December 15, 2020.
The assurance comes after a visit by the sport boss to the Annex of the Olembe Stadium which will serve as a training site during the competition and the refurbished Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium to host matches of the 2021 CHAN.
A similar visit to the 60,000 Olembe Sport Complex was equally carried out to assess the rate of work although the football jewel is no listed among the selected stadia for the CHAN.
Sixteen teams will take part in the continental football showpiece reserved exclusively for home based players . The tournament which kick offs in under 36 days will run from January 16 to February 7, 2021.
Cameroon will face Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso and Mali in group A. The Central African Nations are gunning for a maiden continental trophy when they stage the competition next year.
Morocco beat Nigeria 4-0 in the final to clinch the trophy on home soil in 2018.
