The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon will face Niger, Zambia and Uganda in a four nations tournament in January, the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has confirmed.
The one week competition which will run from January 1 -7th 2021 in Yaoundé is meant to prepare the Central African Nation measure up their strength as they gear-up to clinch their maiden CHAN trophy on home soil.
“The PRE-CHAN, mini-tournament will be played in Yaounde from January 1 to 7 2021 with four teams qualified for the CHAN: Cameroon, Niger, Zambia and Uganda.
This mini-tournament is organized by FECAFOOT to finish putting the Intermediate Lions in optimal conditions before the start of the CHAN which the country is hosting from January 16-February 7th”- FECAFOOT stated on their official site.
Coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and his side are currently in camp at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo where they have intensified preparations for next year’s continental football showpiece.
They recently beat League one side Canon of Yaoundé in a preseason tournament on Wednesday.
Cameroon will face Zimbabwe, Mali and Burkina Faso in group A.
The 2021 African Nations Football Championship will run from January 16 – February 7 2021.
