· The Volleyball Lionesses are through to the last four of the 2021 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship and look set to retain their continental crown

The Women’s Volleyball team of Cameroon thrashed Burundi 3 sets to 0 to become the first nation to qualify for the semi-final of the 2021 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship on-going in Kigali-Rwanda with a game to spare.
It is their third victory in a row with a similar score margin recorded in their previous two games. They outclassed Kenya 3-0 and repeated the same exploit against Tunisia in their second outing a day later.
Wednesday’s victory was an easy ride for the Volleyball Lionesses who showcased their unrivalled dominance and supremacy in their group with ease and with little or no opposition from their rivals.
They won the first set 25-15, and continued to press for a victory in the second set. They were rewarded with a 25-14 win and gave no room for suspense by taking control of the third set 25-14 again.
The defending champions-Cameroon are therefore through to the last four of the competition and are yet to suffer from defeat . They will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in their final group B fixture before tilting their attention to their semi-final clash against an opponent yet to be known.
They are bracing up to defend their championship title and qualify for next year’s World Championship finals to be co-hosted by Netherlands and Poland in 2022.
The best two nations from the competition will represent the continent at the global event.
