• Yakhouba Barry scored twice in Guinea’s victory against Namibia to top the goal scoring chart as opening group games of the 2020 CHAN concluded on Tuesday.
Guinea produced a superb display and deservedly beat Namibia 3-0 in their group D opener of the 2020 African Nations Championship on Tuesday at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
They also set a new record of being the first team to score more than once in a single game at the 2020 CHAN in Cameroon-only group D foes Zambia has achieved the exploit.
Yakhouba Barry took 13 minutes to open the scoring for Namibia and sealed the victory with a late strike. Morlaye Sylla had doubled the advantage deep into stoppage time of the first half before Yakhouba completed his brace.
Guinea took things easier from the beginning scoring twice to wrap-off a dominant first half. Yakhouba Barry fired past Edward Maova for an early breakthrough and Morlaye Sylla doubled the lead from a counter with almost the last kick of the first half.
Yakhouba Barry late winner for his side ensured a comfortable evening for Namibia who go level on points and top group D with goal difference after Zambia’s 2-0 win against Tanzania.

Guinea have a chance to secure an early qualification for the quarter-finals when they face Zambia in a highly anticipated fixture during their second outing in Limbe. They will wrap up the group stage against Tanzania.
