Coton Sport have been drawn against DR Congo’s heavyweight TP Mazembe, Al Masry of Egypt and AS Otoho of Congo in group C of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

It is a difficult group for the Garoua based outfit who must finish among the best two clubs in the group in order to advance to the knock-out stages of the CAF Inter-club competition for the second year in a row.

TP Mazembe has a huge experience in CAF Competitions. They won the CAF Confederation twice in 2016 and 2017 and were finalists in 2013 as well. Al Masry on their part reached the quarter-finals of the competition in 2019 but lost to RS Berkane. AS Otoho is the least experienced side in the group. The two-time Congolese winners reached the group stages of the competition for the first time in 2018/2019 with little success.

Coton Sport reached the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup last season. The record 16-time Cameroon Elite one champions begin their campaign at home against Al Masry of Egypt on February 13.
