The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji has led at least 350 personnel of his Ministry to vaccinate against the Covid-19 pandemic. The campaign was carried out at the ministry between September 3-4, 2021.
Staff at the Territorial Administration Ministry and their families voluntarily took the vaccine.
Encouraging his staff to take the vaccine, Minister Paul Atanga Nji said “the vaccine is not compulsory but absolutely necessary.”
He asked them to see the vaccine as a “personal obligation to protect themselves and their communities.”
Two separate vaccines; Sinorpharm and the Johnson & Johnson vaccines were administered within 48 hours.
Skepticism toward the coronavirus vaccine remains high in Cameroon. The situation has been exacerbated by campaigns on social media against covid-19 vaccination. Cameroon’s Health Ministry says respecting barrier measures remains ultimate, although getting the jab is the best way to prevent the spread of the virus.
