Cameroon produced a commanding display to reach the semi-final of the African Women’s Handball Championship after an impressive 44-13 win against Nigeria.
The win implies the Handball Lionesses have also booked a spot for the World Handball Championship in Spain this year alongside Angola, Tunisia and Congo who all won their quarter-final games on Tuesday.
The host who are bracing up to lift the converted trophy for the first time face Congo in the last four of the senior Women’s Handball African Cup of Nations.
The Congolese-four time champions of the Handball Championship stunned title hopeful title Senegal in the quarter-final 21-20. They are seeking their first trophy since 1985.
Cameroon will face Congo in the second semi-final Wednesday evening at 6pm. The first game will pit defending champions and tournament favourites Angola against Tunisia at 3pm.
