It was a proud moment for India as Manushi Chhillar was crowned Miss World 2017 among 118 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China, on November 18. Prior to this, she was crowned Femina Miss India 2017 on June 25, 2017. Chhillar is the sixth Indian beauty to have won the title, actress Priyanka Chopra to have won the title last in the year 2000.
Manushi Chhillar was crowned the 54th Femina Miss India World 2017 by the outgoing Femina Miss India World 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee at the finale event held in at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai on June 25, 2017, Sunday. She represented her home-state Haryana as the Miss India Haryana 2017 at the Femina Miss India 2017 and competed with 29 other contestants from different Indian states.
The first runner up was Mexico’s Andrea Meza, while the second runner up was England’s Stephanie Hill.


Adding to the top five for the beauty pageant contest was France’s Aurore Kichenin and Kenya’s Magline Jeruto.



Among the top 40 for the competition was South Africa’s Adè van Heerden who came in 9th in the contest, Nigeria’s Ugochi Ihezue; 15th, Bostwana’s Nicole Gaelebale ; 18th, and Liberia’s Wokie Dolo 28th.


Cameroon’s Miss World contester, Akomo Minkata, came 4th in Miss World Talent. Miss World Talent is a talent or fast track competition in the Miss World pageant, in which a number of contestants show their abilities in singing, dancing, and poetry.
