Fans of Hong Kong martial artist and actor, Jackie Chan and martial arts lovers left Canal Olympia Bessengué with disappointment when he didn’t show up as one of the invited guests for a martial arts festival.
The African festival of martial arts (FADAM) had confirmed the arrival of the Hong Kong legend as one of the invited guests on its website.
“The Shaolin Black and White International Association will organize the 1st African Festival of Martial Arts in Cameroon, with the participation of the greatest movie stars such as Jackie Chan, Gerard Depardieu; the participation of 50 countries, 500 sports artists, many international guests, and world experts in martial arts. This unprecedented event will welcome several thousand spectators at the Palais des Sports in Yaoundé and Douala,” the website shared.
Cameroonians started sharing this on twitter.

Jackie Chan was supposed to be at Canal Olympia yesterday, but all his fans got was a recorded video of him saying hi to Africans and his fans.
Welcome to Cameroon Jackie Chan. 😂. At least he said Hi

Gina Informs asked one of the sponsors of the festival from Canal +, why Jackie Chan did not come and if he will be in Limbe and she said it was unfortunate Jackie Chan did not come despite all of their efforts and he will not be coming to Cameroon at all.
Affirming that it was not a rumor she went ahead to say “we did all we could for about a year, asking the government to patronize the event but they did not give us their support. We could not displace a man of that caliber to Cameroon without an invitation backed by the government.”
The festival however carried on, in the presence of the governor of the littoral region, who was grateful such an event was organized for the first time in Africa and in Cameroon. The outdoor event started late after it rained on some fans because canopies and chairs were not available for everyone.
Tickets ranged from 2,000 to 25,000 FCFA and some frustrated fans screamed “reimburse us,” when they learned that Jackie Chan will not be coming. Some of them were not very happy that FADAM did not tell fans that Jackie Chan was not going to be in Cameroon.
Hahahahaha. “The festival however carried on, in the presence of the governor of the littoral region, who was grateful such an event was organized for the first time in Africa and in Cameroon” Hahhahahahahaha.
