Kah Walla says NO to elections

By Njix Sharon

The National President of the Cameroon People’s Party, Kah Walla has termed the elections announced to hold come February 09, 2020, a distraction.

Reacting to the communique announcing polls for legislative and municipal elections in February, Kah Walla said elections could not hold without a proper dialogue that will resolve the Anglophone crisis, define the nature of the Cameroonian State and redefine the form of the State.

Ms Walla lamented over the current situation in the country.

” At a time when we are tired of seeing out children recruited by Boko Haram, the Ambas, and gangs of thieves because of lack of schools, jobs and any hope for the future, at this very serious time, what President Biya has found to offer us is elections? She questioned.

She further asked how elections would take place in the two restive regions when no ceasefire has been called.

” We will carry out non-violent protest to say NO! This time it’s NO! Cameroon needs transition, Cameroon needs reconciliation, Cameroon needs to rebuild it’s foundation ” said the politician.

She is not the first to proclaim upcoming elections an overzealous act of the government with misplaced priorities.

This protest comes at a time when the SDF has taken a decision to boycott the November parliamentary session which begins tomorrow, Tuesday in Yaounde, as long as concrete solutions to put an end to the crisis are not provided.
