LIVS Night Club fire victims to receive free treatment

Cameroon’s Health Minister Manaouda Malachi says President Paul Biya has instructed hospitals to provide free treatment to the victims of the LIVS Night Club fire incident. 

At least 16 persons are reported dead and 8 injured in a tragic fire incident caused by at least three explosions at the LIVS Night Club, Ancien Yaoba at the Bastos neighborhood in Yaoundé, according to the ministry of Communication. 

The three explosions are believed to have been caused by a gas leak within the club in the early hours of Sunday, January 23, 2022. 

At least three state ministers have descended to the scene of the incident to assess the damage for themselves and to provide aid to the injured. 

The Minister of Communication René Emmanuel Sadi who’s among state officials who visited the scene said an investigation will be opened soon as possible to uncover the mystery behind the most fatal accident since the start of the year 2022.
