Chad’s President Idris Deby has joined the list of African Presidents who do not only listen to youths but are changing the status quo by appointing new and young cabinet members.
A 29-year-old Chadian woman Amina Priscille Longoh, has been appointed the country’s youngest minister. Amina Longoh is among nine other women who have joined President Idris Deby‘s cabinet.
On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, she was appointed Women and Early Childhood Protection Minister. Before her remarkable appointment, Amina Priscille Longoh was appointed the General Mananger of the Women’s National House in Chad in June2019, she assumed duty on August 1, 2019.
Amina is not known or recognized only for her social entrepreneur works in Chad, she is known across Africa.
She is currently serving African Youths at the Pan African Youth Union as Commissioner for Education & Competency. In 2016, Amina created Chad Helping Hands, a charitable and non-governmental organization that brings together young Chadians who wish to volunteer their time and expertise to serve excellence in women. The Organization equally aims to support pregnant and lactating women with difficult food conditions.
Amina is among the winners of PADEV 2020, the African Development Prize, honoring those whose works in their respective sectors of activity, by their quality and impact constitute models of contribution to the development of their country and Africa.
Amina Priscille Longoh will receive the Best Networking Manager Award during the PADEV Kigali 2020 ceremony, which will take place from July 19 to July 21, 2020 in Rwanda.
