Michèle Ange Minkata to represent Cameroon at Miss World 2017

Minkata Akomo Michèle Ange Sandra, the fourth runner-up in Miss Cameroon 2016, who took over the crown and the title from Julie Cheugueu Nguimfack after she was dethroned, is to represent Cameroon in Miss World 2017.

The 23-year-old beauty queen will face 117 other queens from countries across the world, all striving to be the 67th Miss World and taking over from Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico.

This year, Miss World will have a new format, giving greater emphasis on social media and interactivity.

This new format, called the ‘Head-to-Head Challenge’, will be used to select 20 out of the Top 40 contestants.

Miss World 2017 will be held on November 18, 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. Cameroon last competed in 2015, represented by Jessica Lydia Ngoua Nseme, Miss Cameroon 2015, who was among the top 10 of the pageant that year in China.
