The newly elected president of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has been installed into office today.
Seidou Mbombo Njoya was commissioned in a ceremony that took place at the Multipurpose Sport complex in Yaounde and was presided over by Bernard Philippe Obama, who represented the Minister of Sport and Physical Education Bidoung Mpkwatt.
The new FECAFOOT boss has vowed to rebuild the image of the organization and its credibility. He further stated that he won’t waste time to get to work.
The one time interim FECAFOOT president in 2013 pledged his support to revive football in the country while maintaining good governance at the helm of the federation which have been plagued with corruption, mismanagement and power tussle.
Apart from rebuilding the country’s image in the continental and global scene, Seidou Mbombo Njoya equally has a task putting to end the chaos that has bedeviled the country ever since former president Iya Mohammed was jailed in 2013 with a 15-year jail term .
The election of the Seidou Mbombo Njoya ends a 15 month period of normalization which was established by world football governing body FIFA, and the confederation of African Football ,CAF. The normalization committee which has been able to revise FECAFOOT Text and organize election was led by the Barrister Dieudonne Happi.
