Several Persons are currently receiving treatment after they were hit by an Improvised Explosive Device detonated in the early hours of Monday morning at the Buea Trade Fair, at Clerks Quarters.

Ambazonian fighters are since believed to have taken responsibility for the attack on the people present at the Trade Fair.

The Separatists have revealed that the attack which fortunately killed no one, was a warning to all defaulters of the Monday Ghost towns imposed by them across the Anglophone Regions.

Footages disseminated on social media showed that the trade fair venue was turned into a pandemonium after the detonation, with several attendees fleeing the event for fear of further repercussions.

The over 10 Injured persons have been rushed to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately witnesses say there was no death recorded nor a critical case requiring special attention.

The detonation at the Trade Fair is the latest of a series of others recorded in Buea recently. About a month ago, an IED exploded within an Amphitheatre in the University of Buea. Before that also, a taxi driver had equally lost his life after an IED exploded from his car.

Local authorities have not yet reacted to this latest ordeal in the South West Region capital.
