Multiple sources say Senator David Wallang of the Northwest Region has been kidnapped by alleged Separatists. His abduction comes barely a few months after the he returned from a hip surgery in the United States of America.

His abductors say the reason for his kidnap is owed to the fact that the senator has refused to resign from the ruling CPDM (Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement) party. They also say they expect him to vacate his senatorial position, and to equally support them with 5 AK-47 guns, according to sources familiar with the story.

Senator David Wallang is a retired civil servant who is now into politics after 38 years of service to the state. He has belonged to the CPDM party for more than 30 years. He is equally one of their pioneer senators and the chairman of the Board of Public Contracts in the Menchum Division.

Speaking to Senator David Wallang’s Eldest Son Wilfred Wallang, Gina Informs gathered that he had gotten a call from the kidnappers who demanded a ransom. He said the abductors asked that FCFA 5 Million (about USD 9000) be paid and at least 3 AK-47S be given as ransom. The family of the senator is praying for his safety and return while keeping their fingers crossed.
