Cameroon’s Under-20 Lions beat the Republic of Congo 3-1 to set up a possible clash with the Central African Republic in the final of the on-going UNIFFAC Zonal tournament while waiting for other results.
A draw between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo will confirm the Lions status as finalist of this year’s Zonal tournament which serves a qualification for the 2021 Under 20 African Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
PWD forward Nchindo John Bosco opened the scoring for the Lions but Jean Louamba cancelled out Cameroon’s lead before the break.
Substitute Onana Roderique scored a sublime set-piece while Etouga Mballa netted the winner to seal a precious win for the Under-20 Lions squad.
Cameroon played a 1-1 draw with the Democratic Repulblic of Congo in the opening game of the competition.
The final of the UNIFFAC Zonal tournament is slated for December 22, between the Central African Republic and either Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
