Violence at Cameroon’s National Assembly

A Member of Parliament from Cameroon’s ruling party, CPDM, Honorable Wallang Richard of Wum, sustained an injury on the head in the parliament last night, Friday December 8, as MP’s  fiercely debated on the adoption of the Finance Bill.

Tomaino Ndam Njoya’s target is not clear in a video being circulated on social media but she didn’t aim at her ally; the MP from Wum. He happened to be in the way, as her heels dropped on his forehead.

The parliament in Cameroon has been very dramatic this year, from boycotts, to fire incidents, disruptions and now violence, as they battle to adopt the Financial Bill for the fiscal year 2018.

Last year Honorable WALLANG Richard attacked Mua Patrick, Journalist of the English Daily, The Guardian Post. He received three punches on the jaw from the CPDM MP for writing critical articles on him.
